For the First Time, Italy Gets New Scania S 500 Truck

The Autotrasporti Pigliacelli, a transport company in Italy, has recently taken the delivery of 104 Scania trucks, including a new Scania S 500. Apart from the new generation Scania S 500 truck, the order consisted of 102 Scania R 490 tractor units and a liquid gas powered truck, summing up the total number of trucks to be delivered to a whooping 104 units.
Based in Veroli, 100 km southeast of Rome, the Autotrasporti Pigliacelli currently has a fleet of 600 trucks. The Autotrasporti Pigliacelli belongs to the Pigliacelli group, an established national and international player in the logistics and road freight business.
According to Elio Pigliacelli, Honorary Chairman, Autotrasporti Pigliacelli, “We extensively tested the Scania vehicles before placing the order and were impressed by the high levels of reliability.” He also added that the determining factor of reliability ensures the maximum profitability while be fully compliant with the environment.
The new generation Scania S 500 comes with high performance with low fuel consumption, the best driving characteristics, a high level of comfort and good safety features. Also, the new S-series has been embedded with a host of other enhancements as compared to the R-series. These include the more comfortable and larger bed and a flat cab floor.
Scania is a Swedish manufacturer of commercial vehicles, especially heavy trucks and buses. The brand has its presence globally and also sells heavy tractors and tippers in the Indian truck market.
