Mahindra Sold 25,252 Units Of Commercial Vehicles In India In December 2024

Mahindra & Mahindra sold 25,252 trucks and 3-wheelers in India during December 2024, showing an 8.87% YoY sales growth over the 23,195 units in December 2023.

The Mahindra & Mahindra monthly sales report for December 2024 was made public for 3-wheelers, including electric three-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. Sales figures for 3-wheelers, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs) are included in this report. The LCV section is divided into 3 groups – LCVs under 2 tonnes, LCVs between 2 and 3.5 tonnes, and LCVs over 3.5 tonnes with MHCVs.

Mahindra's December 2024 commercial vehicle sales report showed a decline in sales of LCVs weighing less than 2 tonnes and LCVs weighing between 2 and 3.5 tonnes when compared to their sales figures in December 2023. However, sales of 3-wheelers and LCVs above 3.5 tonnes with MHCV trucks rose positively.

Mahindra Light-Duty Trucks Sales In December 2024

Mahindra Commercial Vehicles sold 2,409 LCVs weighing less than 2 tonnes GVW (gross vehicle weight) in December 2024, a 15% YoY decrease from 2,849 units sold in the same month the previous year. LCV sales with GVWs between 2 and 3.5 tonnes rose by almost 16% YoY.

In India, sales of LCVs weighing between 2 and 3.5 tonnes peaked in December 2024 at 16,139 units, up from 13,958 units in the same month the previous year. Its December sales of MHCVs and LCVs with GVWs of over 3.5 tonnes were down 12% YoY by selling 954 units compared to 1,081 units sold in December 2023.

Mahindra 3-Wheelers & Export Sales In December 2024

Mahindra sold 5,750 three-wheelers, including electric three-wheelers, in December 2024, reflecting an 8% YoY increase from 5,307 three-wheelers sold in December 2023. The brand exported 3,092 units to international markets this December, a notable 70% increase over the 1,819 units exported in the same month of 2023. 

Final Thought

In the ending month of the calendar year 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra saw an overall 8.87% YoY increase in sales, selling 25,252 units in the Indian and international markets in December 2024 compared to 23,195 units sold and exported in December 2023. In Q2FY25, Mahindra became the market leader in electric 3-wheelers with a 43.6% market share and a record-breaking quarterly billing for 21,000 units.
