MAN Truck & Bus UK Ropes in Legendary Footballer for Limited Edition Truck

As England celebrates 50 years of winning the football World Cup against Germany this year, MAN Truck and Bus UK have joined hands with Sir Geoff Hurst, 1966 World Cup legend, to release a limited edition MAN TGX tractor unit with exclusive 66 registration plate. MAN’s UK customers will be able to buy just one of the 66 limited edition trucks.
The company will be bringing in the vehicles with the registration plates prefixed with 66. Simon Elliott, football fan and MAN Truck & Bus UK Managing Director, said that it was a real honour to be working with Sir Geoff on this initiative. “Our entire business, both here in the UK and in Germany has total respect for him as a player and a footballing ambassador, and we just couldn’t miss the chance to recognise this landmark and the 66 plate,” he said. Sir Geoff has etched himself a permanent place in football history by scoring a hat-trick in the historic final match, thus helping beat Germany by a 4-2 victory.
To start the initiative, Sir Geoff also visited MAN’s headquarters in Swindon, UK today and inspected the new trucks. Showing his support and enthusiasm, he said, “This is a fantastic initiative and shows that even though our win was 50 years ago, it is still being celebrated today. It was an honour to meet the team at MAN who are red hot keen to offer their customers something unique. It was good to chat trucks and football and, it was agreed by most that now is the time for England to bring home more silverware!”
Keeping customer sentiments in mind, each customer receives a framed replica of the 1996 England football shirt, signed by Sir Geoff. The tractor units also come with specially designed door badge, personalized 66 TGX registration plate, unique 66 logo dashboard mat and is available in XLX or XXL specification. The customers purchasing one of the limited edition trucks will even get to participate a special drive-away luncheon in Wembley and will be personally handed over the trucks by Sir Geoff at a special ceremony.
