Maruti Suzuki Super Carry LCV Launched in Gujarat

After a year-long speculation over the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s much anticipated Super Carry Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), the country’s largest passenger vehicle maker today finally launched the truck in the Gujarat market. With this launch, Maruti Suzuki has forayed into the commercial vehicle segment and the company is expected to bring in its expertise and technological skill in the LCV industry. Super Carry LCV is priced at INR 4,03,000 (ex-showroom, Ahmedabad).
The unveiling was done by Mr. RS Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Mr T Hashimoto, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, and Mr CV Raman, Executive Director (Engineering), Maruti Suzuki India, at an exclusive ceremony held in Ahmedabad.
Speaking at the launch event, Mr Kalsi, Executive Director Marketing & Sales, said, “With Super Carry we target to fulfil the business needs of our customers. Super Carry is a robust load carrying vehicle that is made for carrying large loads yet offers high fuel efficiency. Our robust service network brings a huge assurance to the customers.”
He also added that the company will be setting up 50 new showrooms across five states by the end of this year in order to cater to more customers. Maruti Suzuki has invested around INR 300 crores towards the development of the Super Carry LCV for the Indian market. The company has also established a new commercial sales channel for Super Carry.
The new Super Carry is an integration of Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor Corporation’s joint effort in introducing their respective R&D expertise and technological prowess to the LCV segment the same way they are offered in passenger vehicle segment.
Explaining the highlights of the new LCV, Mr. Raman said, “Super Carry is a result of our extensive research of the light commercial vehicle market. It addresses the need for power, stability, ride & handling and fuel efficiency. With shorter turnaround time, more trips and more savings, Super Carry is an ideal product for the LCV customer.”
Super Carry is available in two widely preferred colour options, Superior White and Silky Silver.
Suzuki had launched Super Carry vehicle in the South African market in June this year.
Key features
Powerful engine: Technologically enhanced 793 cc turbocharged diesel engine delivers a peak torque of 75 Nm @ 2000 rpm. The engine is supported by a 5-speed manual transmission.
High fuel efficiency: Equipped with a powerful and fuel efficieny engine, the vehicle has a 22.07 kmpl fuel efficiency.
Superior loading capacity: Loading area of 3.25 Sq m with a payload of 740 kgs easily accommodates various loads for small businesses.
Better ride & handling: Lighter steering, smooth gear shift and 4.3 m minimum turning radius ensure better maneuverability.
Better safety and stability: The vehicle chassis has been built using rust resistant galvanised steel, front disc-brakes, LSPV braking system for effective braking based on load condition, bigger ORVMs.
Enhanced comfort: Spacious cabin, flat comfortable seats with thick glass fibre heat shield for better heat insulation and ergonomically designed pedal provides comfort during long drives.
