Model-Wise Cargo 3-Wheeler Sales In November 2024

The cargo 3-wheeler segment's model-wise sales performance in November 2024 is highlighted in the latest report published by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Key Highlights

• Bajaj Auto observed the highest sales volume of its Maxima goods carrier in November 2024, selling 4,815 units in India.
• In November 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra produced 50 units of Treo and 118 units of Zor Grand, with 81 and 348 cargo 3-wheelers sold domestically, respectively.
• In the case of e-carts, Atul Auto sold 157 units of Elite Cargo in India, while the brand produced 225 units in November 2024.

SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), the apex national organisation representing India's major auto and motor vehicle manufacturers, presented the domestic sales and exports of the cargo 3-wheeler category for November 2024. The sales and production of different Indian cargo three-wheeler brands and models are included in the sales report.

The most recent SIAM sales report compares the domestic sales and export performance of the top 3-wheeler brands, including Atul Auto, Bajaj Auto, Continental Engines or Baxy, Mahindra, Piaggio, and TVS Motor for cargo 3-wheelers including goods carriers and e-carts in November 2023 with the sales data in November 2024.

Model-Wise Goods Carrier 3-Wheelers Sales In Nov’24

Atul Auto sold a maximum of 833 units of Atul Shakti Cargo in November 2024 after manufacturing 807 units this month compared to 572 units of production and 575 units of sales in India. The Gemi Cargo model was manufactured in 228 units and 213 units of this model were sold domestically in November 2024.

With the production of 6 units of Atul Gem Cargo in November 2024, Atul Auto sold 16 units in this period compared to 60 units of production and 23 units of domestic sales in November 2023. The 18 units of Atul Energie were manufactured and all of its manufactured units were sold in India during November 2024.

Bajaj Maxima is the only company’s goods carrier in this sales report by SIAM, highlighting the production of 4,994 units in November 2024 compared to 4,748 units manufactured in November last year. The 4,815 units of this model were sold in India during this month compared to the 4,530 units sold in the same month 2023. The company exported 264 units of Maxima in this period. 

Baxy cargo 3-wheelers including Super King, Bindas FE, Superior, and others witnessed the production of 142 units in November 2024. Of these, 92 units were sold in India during this period. TVS Motors observed the domestic sales of 36 units and the export of 10 units of King Kargo in November this year after producing 66 units in this period. 216 units of Mahinda Alfa model were manufactured and 339 units were sold in the domestic market. 

Mahindra & Mahindra manufactured 50 units of Treo and 118 units of Zor Grand in November 2024 and saw domestic sales of 81 units and 348 units respectively. With the manufacturing of 3,006 units of Piaggio Ape Xtra, the company registered domestic sales of 3,000 units of this model.

Model-Wise E-Cart 3-Wheelers Sales In Nov’24

Selling 157 units of the Atul Elite Cargo model in November 2024 in India, the brand manufactured 225 units in the same month. With domestic sales of 16 units of Baxy E Carts, the brand reported a production of 30 units in November 2024. In November 2024, Mahindra manufactured 111 units of e-Alfa Cargo and recorded sales of 116 units in the domestic market compared to 52 units in November 2023.

Bottomline

In a nutshell, the Indian market experienced the production of 9,657 units of goods carriers and 366 units of e-carts in November this year compared to 10,268 units of goods carriers and 287 units of e-carts in November 2023. In terms of domestic sales, 9,809 units of goods carriers and 289 units of e-carts were sold in November 2024, compared to 9,281 units of goods carriers and 292 units of e-carts sold in November last year.
