Model-Wise Passenger 3-Wheeler Sales In November 2024

The sales report released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) highlights the model-wise sales performance of the passenger 3-wheeler category in November 2024.

- After selling 8,690 Maxima and 23,738 RE autorickshaws in the Indian market, Bajaj Auto sold the maximum units in November 2024 within the category of autorickshaws with no more than 4 seats, including the driver seat.
- Mahindra sold 800 units of e-Alfa Mini and 130 units of Treo Yaari models domestically in the e-rickshaw market.
- During this time, Atul Auto sold 524 units of Gemi Paxx and 67 units of Gem, which fall under the category of autorickshaws with more than 4 seats, including the driver seat.
The top national body for India's major auto and motor vehicle manufacturers, SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), released the country's passenger 3-wheeler export and domestic sales figures for the month of November this year. This latest sales report includes details on the manufacturing and sales of various passenger rickshaw models of Indian brands in this segment.
The latest SIAM sales report for November 2024 analyses the domestic and export sales performance of top passenger 3-wheeler brands – Atul Auto, Bajaj Auto, Baxy, Mahindra, Piaggio, and TVS Motor based on their model in 3 categories namely 3-wheelers with less than 4 seats, more than 4 seats, and E-rickshaws.

Sales Of Passenger Carrier 3-Wheelers In Nov’24
Within the category of auto-rickshaws having not more than 4 seats including the driver seat, Bajaj Auto sold the highest units in November 2024 after selling 8,690 units of Maxima and 23,738 units of RE auto-rickshaw in the Indian market. Mahindra & Mahindra sold 321 units of the Alfa model and 5,908 units of the Treo model in November 2024.
Ranked third in the sales volume of auto-rickshaws with less than 4 seats, Piaggio saw domestic sales of 2,834 units of Ape Auto and 2,560 units of Ape City in November 2024. By selling 2,010 units of TVS King 4S and 126 units of TVS King Electric, TVS Motor observed higher sales than the monthly sales of Atul 3-wheelers in November 2024.
With the domestic market sales of 149 units of Atul Rik, 45 units of Atul Rik + 3P, and 133 units of Atul Mobili, the brand noted comparatively lower sales. A total of 111 units of Baxy Express Passenger 3-wheelers and 509 units of L5M Montra Electric Super Auto were sold in India in November 2024.
Under the category of auto-rickshaws having more than 4 seats including the driver seat, Atul Auto sold 67 units of Gem and 524 units of Gemi Paxx model in this period. This 3-wheeler category observed a range of maximum mass from 1 tonne to 1.5 tonne.
Sales Of E-Rickshaws In November 2024
In the e-rickshaw category, Mahindra witnessed domestic sales of 800 units of the e-Alfa Mini and 130 units of the Treo Yaari model. While Atul Auto sold 369 units of Atul Elite, Continental Engines sold 228 units of Baxy E Rath. This way, the Indian e-rickshaw segment registered domestic sales of 1,527 units in November 2024 compared to 2,563 units sold in November 2023.

Compared to the domestic sales of 48,007 units of passenger carriers and 2,563 units of e-rickshaws in November 2023, the Indian 3-wheeler market sold 47,725 units of passenger carriers and 1,527 units of e-rickshaws in November of this year. In November 2024, 65,271 units of passenger carriers and 1,703 units of e-rickshaws were sold domestically.
