Tata Motors Releases Commercial Vehicle Sales Report For January 2025

Tata Motors experienced a 31% YoY increase in export sales of commercial vehicles in January 2025, with 1,905 units exported, up from 1,449 units exported in January 2024.

Tata Motors, one of the pioneers in the Indian commercial vehicle industry, released its monthly sales report for January 2025. This latest commercial vehicle sales report has covered the sales performance of heavy-duty trucks, ILMCV (Intermediate Light and Medium Commercial Vehicle) trucks, passenger carriers, SCV (Small Commercial Vehicle) cargo and pickups in both domestic and foreign markets.
Except for the SCV cargo and pickup category, Tata Commercial Vehicle experienced sales growth in all other categories during January 2025. In terms of exports in the same month, the company exported 1,905 units compared to 1,449 units, showing a 31% YoY sales growth.

Tata Commercial Vehicle Sales Report January 2025
According to Tata Motors’ January 2025 commercial vehicle sales report, the company sold 8,990 units of heavy-duty trucks domestically in January 2025, a 1% YoY increase over the 8,906 units sold in the same month the previous year. Compared to the 3,872 units of passenger carriers sold in January 2024, the company sold 4,582 passenger carriers in January 2025, reflecting an 18% YoY growth.
The company’s domestic sales of ILMCV trucks stood at 5,298 units in January 2025 compared to 4,743 units in January 2024, reflecting a 12% YoY sales growth. With 11,213 units of SCV Cargo and Pickups sold in January 2025 compared to 13,122 units in January 2024, Tata Motors recorded a 15% YoY decrease in domestic sales.

In January 2025, Tata Motors sold 78,159 units, a 7% YoY decrease from the 84,276 sold in the same month the year before, when only domestic vehicle sales were taken into account. MH&ICV, which includes trucks and buses, saw a rise in domestic sales from 14,440 units in January 2024 to 15,137 units in January 2025. In January 2025, the brand’s MH&ICVs sold 16,076 units domestically and overseas, up from 14,972 units in January 2024.
