VECV Records Overall Truck Sales Of 6,426 Units In December 2024

The December 2024 monthly sales report for VECV, a joint venture between Volvo and Eicher Motors, was released. The monthly sales report separates commercial vehicles into two categories: light and medium-duty (LMD) trucks and heavy-duty (HD) trucks. The gross vehicle weight (GVW) of HD trucks is greater than 18.5 tonnes, whereas that of LMD trucks is between 3.5 and 18.5 tonnes.

In December 2024, VECV's total truck sales marginally increased 0.55% YoY from 6,391 units sold in the same month in 2023 to 6,426 units sold this year. Eicher Motors domestically sold 5,778 units during this period, down 2.99% year over year from 5,956 units sold in December 2023 in India.

Eicher Trucks Sales Report December 2024

Eicher Motors sold 3,641 LMD trucks in December 2024, down from 3,868 units sold in the same month the previous year. It suggests that domestic sales have decreased by 5.87% year over year. Domestic sales of heavy-duty trucks dropped from 2,088 units in December 2023 to 2,137 units in December 2024, resulting in a 2.35% YoY sales growth for the company.

The brand exported 359 units in the global market in December 2024 compared to 237 units exported in December 2023, indicating a significant sales growth of 81.31% YoY. In terms of the export performance of Eicher trucks, the company exported 319 LMD trucks in December 2024, compared to 164 units in the same month the previous year, showing a notable 94.51% YoY increase in sales. 

With only 40 units of HD trucks exported in December 2024 compared to 34 units in December 2023, the company's export sales of HD trucks saw a sales growth of 17.65% YoY.

Volvo & Eicher CVs Monthly Sales In December 2024

Volvo’s overall sales of trucks and buses increased by 21.94% year over year in December 2024, from 237 units sold in December 2023 to 289 units. Considering the sales of both trucks and buses in both Indian and international markets, VECV witnessed sales of 8,324 units in December 2024 compared to 8,026 units in December 2023, reflecting a sales growth of 3.71% YoY.
