Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of Hinduja Group has finally launched the much-awaited last-mile cargo carrier – ‘Saathi’, at the Auto Expo 2025. This light commercial vehicle is expected to be a disruptor in the segment constructed on advanced LNT technology. Featuring an advanced powertrain, the vehicle is crafted to deliver 45 hp of maximum power and 110 Nm of peak torque output. With a payload capacity of 1120 kg, the company asserts that the Ashok Leyland Saathi carry large goods in a single trip for more profit outcomes. 

What We Know So Far?

According to Ashok Leyland, the LNT technology-based Ashok Leyland Saathi does not require AdBlue to reduce operational hassles. The company also makes a bold statement that the vehicle has a 24 percent larger loading capacity compared to its competition. With a 5-year or staggering 2-lakh km warranty, the Ashok Leyland Saathi is positioned as a top-class product in Ashok Leyland’s product portfolio. 

Coming to the design aspects, the vehicle borrows many of its elements from the DOST range of trucks in Ashok Leyland’s product lineup. However, it features an appealing colour scheme with decals covering the cabin and tail section. This lends the Saathi a bold look compared to its competitors. Apart from this, it gets wheel caps which gives it a more modern appeal. At the rear section, the vehicle gets a bold Ashok Leyland branding.

Coming to the features onboard the vehicle, Ashok Leyland offers an air conditioning system inside the cabin. That’s not it, keeping in mind the comfort and convenience of drivers, the company is offering a music system and comfortable seats. Additionally, there is a centre armrest as well which makes driving more comfortable. Other than these, the vehicle gets rear parking sensors for enhancing the safety of occupants as well as pedestrians.

The Ashok Leyland Saathi is offered at a starting price of Rs 6,49,999 for its full-side deck (FSD) variant. The Saathi contends with the likes of vehicles such as the Mahindra Supro Profit Truck Maxi, Mahindra Supro Profit Truck Excel and Tata Intra V10 among others.
