5 Top CV makers in October 2022

As per the FADA retail sale data, we rank top truck brands with the highest market share in the month.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations released Vehicle Retail Data for October' 22. The data indicates a strong demand for commercial vehicles across all segments of the market. The total retail sale of commercial vehicles stands at 74,443 units, up by 25% (October 21:59,363). The segment break-up is LCV: 44,896, MCV:4,474, and HCV: 22,858 units, growing by 22%, 4%, and 38%, respectively.
The 5-top commercial vehicles/Trucks brands recorded strong growth across their portfolio registering an uptick in the overall number in the month.
Tata Motors continues to lead the pack with a total retail sale of 27,467 units, cornering a market share of 37%.
Mahindra ranked number second with a total sale of 20,083 units, taking 27% of the market share.
Ashok Leyland emerged as the third-largest player in the month by selling 12,077 units, taking 16 % of the market share.
Having sold a total volume of 4,937 units in the month Eicher grabs the 4th spot with a 7% market share.
Retailing over 3,677 units of its popular mini-trucks Super Carry with a market share of 5%, Maruti Suzuki is the 5th top CV maker of the month.
According to FADA, “ The CV segment continues to come back on track by growing 25% YoY and 13% compared to 2019. Festivities ignited better fleet sales. With Mining and Infrastructure projects increasing in various regions, demand has been keeping well and is also coming back on track.”
Going ahead, FADA expects the demand for commercial vehicles to stay elevated due to rising infra projects and government spending. While the PV segment continues to outperform, demand in the entry-level segment continues to show some softness.
