EKA 2.5T

EKA Mobility, one of India's leaders in electric commercial vehicles, has showcased its small commercial electric vehicle dubbed EKA 2.5T at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It carries a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 2,510 kg which makes it capable of transporting cargo material weighing up to 1,500 kg. 

This SCV is a zero-tailpipe emission vehicle designed to facilitate mid-mile urban logistics operations. With a 9-foot-long cargo deck and 300 cubic feet of loading space, the EKA 2.5T combines reliable performance with sustainability to offer an efficient solution for diverse transportation needs. 

What We Know So Far?

The EKA 2.5T prototype was on show at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This model comes under the N1 vehicle category with a seating capacity of driver and co-driver. To ensure stability on the road, it has a balanced body size of 4610 mm in length, 1600 mm in width, 1850 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2900 mm. 

A 32 kWh lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) battery pack power this electric truck which produces 80.46 hp peak power and 220 Nm peak torque. With a single-phase AC charging mode, it takes around 4 hours to fully charge its battery, delivering a range of up to 180 kilometres. To cut down on turnaround time, it can reach a top speed of 70 kmph.

In addition to the aforementioned specifications, the EKA 2.5T truck boasts the following additional specifications: 

• It can move cargo material smoothly on inclines thanks to its 18 percent gradeability. 
• The tyres on this electric vehicle are 175R14 LT in size.
• Equipped with Mac Pherson Independent Suspension at the front and longitudinal leaf spring rear suspension, it is built with a ladder chassis frame.
• For effective braking performance, this e-truck fits with disc brakes up front and drum brakes at the back.
• It offers a vehicle warranty of 3 years or 1.65 lakh and a battery warranty of 6 years or 1.65 lakh (whichever is earlier).

Rivals

The Tata Ace EV 1000 and Switch IeV4, among other models, are expected to compete with the EKA 2.5T model after the prototype was analysed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
