EKA 1700K

EKA Mobility, an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, has expanded its small commercial vehicle portfolio by introducing an electric cargo carrier on 3 wheels – EKA 1700K – at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025. The EKA 1700K is a zero-tailpipe emission 3-wheeler under the L5N category designed to improve the last-mile urban logistics operations in India.

Fitted with a sturdy container body of 220 cubic feet volumetric capacity, this new EKA 3-wheeler cargo model delivers efficient, eco-friendly performance, making it ideal for light cargo transportation. It can carry 750 kg market loads easily with its 7.6 feet long cargo deck. EKA Mobility confirms that the official launch of the 1700K can be expected at the end of this year.

What We Know So Far?

The new EKA 1700K prototype showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 is an electric cargo three-wheeled vehicle which comes with smart pedal technology that monitors the use of the accelerator and brake pedals for helping to prevent collision. This electric cargo 3-wheeler has a wheelbase of 2550 mm with a vehicle dimension of 3950 mm in length, 1580 mm in width, and 2400 mm in height.

With a ground clearance of 172 mm, this electric commercial vehicle is able to traverse urban roads without any damage to the undercarriage. Its turning radius of 5 m makes it easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces in cities. In terms of its performance, its 20 kWh LFP (lithium ferrous phosphate) battery pack enable it to deliver a range of 200 km on a single charge. 

Its battery takes 3 hours to fully charge using a DC fast charger and 6.5 hours to fully charge with a single-phase AC charger. This cargo electric vehicle produces 20.12 hp of peak power and 80 Nm of peak torque. With a gradeability of 19 percent, EKA 1700K is claimed to be perfect for moving cargo material over inclines like flyovers. It is also equipped with a hill hold assist feature to tackle congested city traffic. 

Besides these, the EKA 1700K cargo 3-wheeler highlights the following other specifications: 

• The 3-wheeled cargo carrier has tubeless tyres of size 130/80 R12.
• Its top speed is 50 kmph to ensure optimum turnaround time in logistics.
• It is incorporated with a container body of 2300 mm in length, 1550 mm in width, and 1750 mm in height.
• This vehicle sports disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear for effective braking performance.  
• It comes with a vehicle warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh km and a battery warranty of 6 years or 1.65 lakh km (whichever is earlier).

After exploring the prototype of EKA 1700K at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the model should compete with Mahindra Zor Grand and Altigreen neEV High Deck among others.
